Bourbon Collard Greens
These bourbon collard greens are a southern favorite and will be sure to bring good luck throughout the new years!
Ingredients
- 3 bunches fresh collard greens
- 4 slices thick-cut maple bourbon bacon
- 1/2 sweet onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 tsp salt & pepper
Instructions
- Cut bacon into cube size pieces and mix with onion and garlic. Cook until bacon is crispy and onions are tender.
- Add bourbon, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, chicken broth, and salt & pepper.
- Wash the collard greens and cut the stems off. Cut the greens into smaller pieces.
- Simmer on medium-low heat for about an hour/hour and a half.
