Strawberries have always been one of my favorite fruits and I will especially drool over easy strawberry shortcake. Paul and I were inspired to make this easy strawberry shortcake dessert after visiting the Farmer’s Market in Charlotte. We LOVE to purchase things here knowing we are supporting local farmers and businesses. Check out their website at: https://www.ncagr.gov/markets/facilities/markets/charlotte/
There are soooo many different ways to make strawberry shortcake. This recipe is a quick way for when you picked too many at the strawberry patch or just need a light, refreshing bite to hold you over.
One of The Easiest Desserts to Make
It requires 3 ingredients – dessert shells, strawberries, and whipped cream. I try to cut sugars as much as possible so I chose not to use a sauce; however, I am adding a strawberry sauce topping to the recipe card for you to use if you wish.
A suggestion I have is to rinse off the strawberries with water and pat them dry with a paper towel before beginning. Doing this should solve the problem of water droplets in your bowl (pictured below). If this does happen, simply dry them up using the end of a paper towel.
Start by placing a dessert shell in a bowl and topping with your desired amount of whipped cream. I prefer less so I only used 2 spoonfuls but, if you are anything like Paul, you will have about 3-4.
Once you have added the whipped cream, simply slice the strawberries and place them on top of the dessert. Add as many of these as you would like!

You may add the strawberry sauce topping or enjoy as is! See, I told you it was one of the easiest desserts to make!
