These winter wedding must haves come from experience as our wedding was on one of the coldest days in January! As I reminisce on our big day I know these top 6 winter wedding must haves would be very important for any bride to know who dreams of a winter wedding.
1. Fleece Tights
These fleece tights from Amazon are lined with fur and feel amazing! I bought them along with some of my bridesmaids. I know I couldn’t have survived the frigid temps without these!
I also want to mention that these come with the feet out so that you can wear them with open toed shoes if you have them. Such a great winter wedding must haves!
2. Faux Fur
Faux fur seems like an obvious for a winter wedding necessity; however, I was going to opt out of this but chose to order one last minute from Amazon. (Thank God for Amazon Prime – am I right?! 👏)
I only wore it during the outside ceremony and while we were taking pictures but I think it definitely helped in keeping me warm. Plus, it was a beautiful addition that everyone loved!
3. Boots/Booties and Tennis Shoes
Boots or booties are also a winter wedding must haves. Again, I ordered mine from Amazon and they were the exact brand of my engagement photo shoot booties, just a shorter version (I’ll link both!). These were also easy to wear with the fleece tights and made walking down the aisle a breeze.
After our grand entrance, dance, and dinner, I went up and changed into these adorable Steve Madden tennis shoes from Nordstrom. They were superrr comfortable for walking around and dancing in! I’ll be wearing them again for sure! ☺️
4. Hand Warmers
These were courtesy of our awesome photographer, Sincerely Sadie Photography. She had the great idea to put them in my bra and then my bridesmaids had the idea to wrap them in paper towels so that it wouldn’t be direct to skin contact.
These were literally a LIFE SAVER. When I was standing outside and freezing I would just focus my attention to the areas of my body getting heat. Winter brides, try this winter wedding must haves hack and let me know what you think! ☺️
5. Venue with a Fireplace
Our venue had multiple fireplaces, some inside and some outside. A fireplace was a must for me when we were searching for venues because I wanted that cozy, winter, romantic vibe.
6. Snow and/or Snow Confetti
I had dreamt of a winter wedding since I was a little girl and for it to snow was my DREAM! Luckily, it actually DID snow (just a flurry) on both the rehearsal day and the wedding day! How awesome! ❤️
As our exit, well “fake exit”, we had everyone throw snow confetti. It was seriously such a beautiful experience and everything I could’ve wanted! Snow and/or snow confetti is absolutely 10/10 a winter wedding must haves!
