These easy almond and cherry thumbprint cookies are simply almond cookies plus maraschino cherries. We make them using Tastefully Simple’s Absolutely Almond Pound Cake mix, which is phenomenal!
The easy thumbprint cookies are a great dessert recipe when needing something sweet, quick! In total, it only takes about 25-30 minutes to prepare and bake the cookies.

- Absolutely Almond Cake mix
- Butter
- Egg
- Maraschino cherries
How to Prepare These Easy Almond and Cherry Thumbprint Cookies
The title of this recipe is not ‘Easy Almond and Cherry Thumbprint Cookies’ for nothing! It is a SUPER quick, and easy, recipe for anyone who is needing to bake in a hurry.
Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees and spraying a baking sheet for the cookies.
Add the butter, egg, and almond pound cake mix to a bowl. Mix everything together well!
Knead the dough with your hands and begin forming into small 1 inch balls.
Place the easy thumbprint cookies on the baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Use your thumb to gently press an indention in the center of the cookies.
Place 1/2, to a whole, maraschino cherry in the center of the cookie. Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until lightly browned.
