Trout is a delicate type of fish with a flaky consistency. I personally love it served by itself but it is commonly served as an addition to entrees. There are different types of trout and each has a slightly different flavor. Steelhead trout is what Paul used when creating this garlic parmesan crusted recipe. It is a great meal that can be served any night for dinner.
In addition to the trout, the ingredients you need include parmesan (grated and shredded), garlic, seasoned bread crumbs, and fresh lemons.
Begin by mixing the bread crumbs, parmesan, and garlic. Squeeze the lemon over this mixture. You can use your hands or a spoon to mix all of this together on the plate before breading the trout.
Prepare a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray and make sure the trout is rinsed off. Place the trout on the plate – breading it completely on both sides.
Once you are finished breading the trout, place it on the baking sheet and drop about 1 tsp. of olive oil on each piece of fish. This is a very critical step as it adds moisture to make it extra flaky. (YUM!)
Bake in the oven at 425 degrees for about 10-12 minutes.
You will know when the fish is done when it turns white and flakes easily. Serve with a side of sautéed green beans and white rice.
Enjoy! 🙂
